Jamie Bruce (Chair)

Jamie is a partner in the Investment Banking firm Capital West Partners. He is an experienced business and financial leader with a wide range of experience in serving public and private companies, crown corporations and not-for-profit corporations. Among other appointments, he currently serves on the Board of Translink where he also chairs the governance committee.


Matthew Carter

President, Great Northern Way Campus

GNWC’s President, Matthew Carter, joins GNWC from UBC Properties Trust where he served as Vice President from 2002. Previously he spent several years with Citibank in London, England. Matthew has an extensive background in real estate finance and development. At UBC Properties Trust he led initiatives to advance UBC’s vision to build a sustainable, mixed use community while creating significant endowment for research and learning.


Chris Golding

VP Learning and Technology, BCIT

During his ten years at BCIT Chris has held the positions of Director and then Dean of the Learning and Teaching Centre, overseeing three main mandates: curriculum development, instructor professional development and the support of e-learning services. The Institute has also asked Chris to establish the Institute’s Planning and Analysis Office, the development of the BCIT’s five-year strategic plan and to leverage a closer relationship between BCIT’s Information Technology and Academic support systems.


Andrew Grant

President, The PCI Group

Andrew has been the president of PCI since 1982 and has led the company to successfully undertake a broad range of projects, from small commercial buildings through to large office building projects as well as residential.


Patricia Hibbitts

VP Finance and Administration, SFU

Previous to her position as Vice President Finance & Administration at SFU, Pat served as Vice president Business and Finance at the University of Northern British Columbia and also served as Director of Finance & Administration at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, Memorial University. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto and an MBA from York University. She is currently working on a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Simon Fraser University.

John C. Kerr

Managing Partner of Lignum Forest Products LLP and Chairman of Lignum Investments.

Jake Kerr is the former Chairman of Lignum Ltd. He is Managing Partner of the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club, Chairman of the Vancouver Foundation, Chancellor of Emily Carr University of Art + Design and a Director of the Bank of Nova Scotia. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws Degree from Simon Fraser University. Jake is also the recipient of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia in recognition for his significant contribution to the Country and the Province.


J. Eric Martin

Vice President Development, BOSA Developments

Eric Martin is the Vice President Development at BOSA Developments Corp. He is also Vice President and Corporate Secretary for BOSA Developments California, Inc. Previously, Eric worked for British Columbia Development Corp and Intrawest Properties Ltd. He has been responsible for overseeing major urban waterfront developments such as Lonsdale Quay and New Westminster Quay, and he has been involved in all aspects of real estate development for Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler.


David Podmore

President and CEO, Concert Properties

David Podmore is the co-founder of Concert Properties, an award-winning real estate development company. He has more than 33 years of experience in real estate development and large construction projects. David has an Honorary Doctorate of Technology from the BC Institute of Technology and has been actively involved in the community, both professionally and personally.


Tamara Vrooman

CEO Vancity

Previous to her position as CEO at Vancity, Tamara was the Deputy Minister of Finance for British Columbia. She is also appointed to the Conference Board of Canada and the Business Council of British Columbia, among others.


W. Wesley Pue

Vice Provost & AVP Academic Resources

W. Wesley Pue is Vice Provost and Associate Vice President Academic for the University of British Columbia and Nathan T. Nemetz Professor of Legal History and Professor of Law. He researches in the areas of history of the legal profession, law and colonialism, law and society, and policing, security and constitutionalism, and is the General Editor for the University of British Columbia Press' Law and Society book series.
