2010 Graduating Class of the Masters of Digital Media Program Crosses the Stage

Second class of Masters of Digital Media Graduates cross the stage

The 2010 graduates are the second class to complete the Masters of Digital Media program since it was launched in 2007.


The Centre for Digital Media held its second completion ceremony for the 2010 class of graduates of the MDM Program. Attended by family, friends and special guests, the ceremony included an address by Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson.

Pre-Masters Program Now Offered at Centre for Digital Media

Pre-MDM/ELC is an English language and culture pre-graduate training program focused on digital media.


The Pre-Masters of Digital Media/English Language and Culture Program (Pre-MDM/ELC) is an English language and pre-graduate training program customized for those interested in educational and career opportunities in the digital media industry. The program will be offered jointly by the Centre for Digital Media and Simon Fraser University’s Continuing Studies English Language and Culture Program.

For The Web (FTW) Coding Competition Names MDM's TaxiCity Best Student App

For The Web (FTW) Coding Competition Names MDM's TaxiCity Best Student App

Using Bing Maps, TaxiCity allows users to play cabbies working the real streets of Vancouver.


TaxiCity/Manpower, a multidisciplinary group of first and second year graduate students enrolled in the Masters of Digital Media Program, won the Best Student App in the For The Web (FTW) Awards presented at the Make Web Not War Conference in Montreal on May 27.

Digital Kung Fu II offers workshop dealing with trends and tactics in the digital media industry.

The Digital Kung Fu II workshop was held at the Centre for Digital Media on May 28th.


Bringing together experts and leaders from an array of sectors in digital media, this second annual workshop offered a full day of interactive sessions to help inspire new ideas and develop them into realizable goals.

The MDM Program is a 20-month professional graduate degree jointly awarded by the four major public post-secondary institutions in Vancouver, Canada - the University of British Columbia; Simon Fraser University; Emily Carr University of Art + Design and the British Columbia Institute of Technology. This innovative program provides our students with practical team-based experience through industry-relevant curriculum and real-world industry-funded projects. Students work together to develop essential team-building, communications, and project management skills, preparing them for careers as creators, practitioners and senior managers in the rapidly-growing video game and digital media industry.
